AFROCENTRIC

As an observer I  have always been drawn to culture -- the traditions that lie within them and the people that create them. The years I have spent traveling and living all over the world have given me a greater resolve to know more about the cultures and communities we humans live in.

I have always been inspired by my culture, even more so lately. And this is not exclusive only to Nigerian culture or even the wide spread of all African cultures but black culture - everywhere and anywhere. It's a beautiful thing comprised of beautiful people.

In early times portraiture was seen as a way to showcase one’s dignity, affluence and high status. My aim was to modernise that traditional form by way of the Digital Single-Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera so I could showcase and celebrate the rich and gorgeous culture of all black people.
